In cooperation with University of Split’s School of Medicine, the PLIVA School of Pharmacy Care took place for the 10th time, this year, August 30 - September 1.
This year's school gathered around 250 pharmacists from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Montenegro. This year, participants had the opportunity to attend plenary lectures by top experts and hear news on numerous topics, such as the role of artificial intelligence in pharmacy and healthcare, insomnia, neuropathy, and vitamin-mineral supplements. In interactive workshops and examples from practice, they renewed knowledge about vitamins and minerals, migraine, OTC medicines, cardiovascular problems and treatment of patients with urological problems.
Prof. Darko Modun, Ph.D. MD. on behalf of organizers, Split School of Medicine, opened the meeting with these words:
- The purpose of Pliva's school is to provide pharmacy masters without specializations with additional knowledge they did not acquire during undergraduate education, and today prove to be necessary in implementing pharmacy care. The school’s sponsor is PLIVA, supporting education of pharmacists and their efforts in following European and world trends in pharmacy and pharmacy care.
Mihael Furjan, PLIVA Board’s President, greeted those present at the meeting’s opening, noting:
"I am extremely glad to be able to greet you again here in Split, and I am really happy to see that the number of participants in this regional meeting of ours is growing year by year." At PLIVA, we have always been aware of the important role pharmacists play in the entire health system, and the fact that we have the opportunity to be your reliable partner on this journey of additional expertise is extremely important to us. I wish you all three very productive days."
