We are pleased to announce start of the project Blue-connect 3.0 (Reconnecting Science with the Blue Society), which over the next 20 months of implementation will bring numerous activities aimed at bringing science closer to citizens, young people and local communities.
The project is coordinated by University of Split, with partners: University of Rijeka, University of Rijeka Foundation, Juraj Dobrila University in Pula, University of Zadar, Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Institute of Adriatic Cultures and Karst Reclamation and University of Dubrovnik. Several associated partners from the fields of science and education from Croatia and beyond are also participating in its implementation.
Main part of the program consists of two European Researchers' Nights, the largest European event dedicated to popularization of science, which traditionally takes place on last Friday in September.
Activities will cover topics such as marine and environmental protection, climate change, health, sustainable nutrition, new technologies and innovations that shape our everyday lives. All activities are held under the project motto, ''I research'', with the aim of strengthening links between science and society, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking and interest in research among all generations, especially the youth.
Blue-connect 3.0 is funded by European Union’s Horizon Europe program and is a continuation of successfully implemented previous editions.
