The Republic of Croatia has, as a full member, joined European University Institute (EUI).
The European University Institute, located in Florence, Italy, is an international postgraduate teaching and research institute that offers advanced academic training and top-level research opportunities in fields of economics, history, law, political and social sciences, as well as related disciplines. More detailed information can be found on Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth’s website: https://mzom.gov.hr/istaknute-teme/medjunarodna-suradnja-i-eu/europski-sveucilisni-institut/7408.
Call for applications for doctoral programs in economics, history and civilization, law, as well as political and social sciences, is officially open. Deadline for submitting applications is January 15, 2026, 2 PM.
We note that Croatia is in the process of establishing a national scholarship program for studies at EUI, for which there will be a call, in fall of 2026. However, students from Croatia can apply for this call, but without national co-financing, meaning that applicants will need to cover costs themselves.
