Would you like to improve your French skills or learn it from scratch? The University of Brest (UBO) is excited to announce two new online beginner French courses, open to students and staff!
French for Beginners - A1
For absolute beginners! This course will provide you with basic communication skills needed for everyday life: introductions, talking about nationality, understanding numbers up to 100, reading schedules, navigating the city or campus, and basic transactions like buying food or tickets for rides.
When: Tuesdays, January 20 - March 31, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM (excluding February 24)
Duration: 20 hours + independent study
Participants: 20 (evenly distributed among partner universities)
Language of instruction: French (English if needed)
Application deadline: January 12, 2026
French for Beginners - A2
For those who already know the basics! This course will improve your communication skills, including using numbers up to 1000, describing places, giving directions, shopping, talking about food, sports, and leisure.
When: Mondays, January 19 - March 30, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM (excluding February 23)
Prerequisites: French language level A2.1 or A2.2
Duration: 20 hours + independent study
Participants: 20 (evenly distributed among partner universities)
Language of instruction: French (English if needed)
Application deadline: January 11, 2026
