The University of Malta (Valletta Campus) will host the SEA-EU International Week on Ocean Observation and Environmental Monitoring from September 29 to October 1, 2026. This international event brings together researchers, professors and students interested in modern technologies for ocean and environmental monitoring.
During the three-day program, participants will explore latest advancements in oceanographic observation, sensor systems and data collection on marine environments through expert lectures, workshops, technology demonstrations and networking activities. A special emphasis will be placed on the Multiparametric Buoy "BLUE," University of Malta’s research buoy that serves as a platform for developing and testing advanced technologies for monitoring state of the sea.
The program is intended for master's and doctoral students, postdocs and faculty staff from fields related to marine and environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry, physics and other related disciplines. Participation is possible without presenting, but those wishing to present their work are invited to submit a workshop paper (2-5 pages) by July 15, 2026. Registration deadline for all participants is August 28, 2026. Participation is free of charge.
We invite professors, researchers and students from University of Split to take advantage of this opportunity for international networking, knowledge exchange, and familiarization with latest technologies and research in areas of ocean observation and environmental monitoring.
